Seriake needs to get rid of cultists and touts from Bayelsa especially Yenagoa.

Nobody will want to invest in a very insecure state capital where touts feels entitled to harass and extort at will.

Intelligent indeed!! Is that how u produced the drunk ineffective and ineffectual baboon who claimed "stealing is not corruption"

Ruga was never meant nor compulsory for unwilling state, its was voluntarily.. northern state like zamfara, bauchi, borno, gombe, kano etc have all started Ruga pilot scheme
Tumbulum:
and your almajiri president quickly suspended your Ruga when the intelligent southern states threw back his Ruga on his Fulani face. Why didn't he go ahead to implement it in the northern states that were ready to donate land?

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has re-echoed that there’s no land for Ruga settlement in the State, except land for only investment.

Dickson stated this during the official launch of the New Yenagoa City within Yenagoa, the capital city, at the DSP Alamieseiyegha banquet hall, Government House, Yenagoa.

Dickson started with the presentation of lands to the former Presidents that have served the country including former President, Goodluck Jonathan and Former Military President, Abdulsalam Abubarkar.

The former heads of State also include President Muhammad Buhari, who served as Military head of State and former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Late Sani Abacha.

Also gifted with lands and Certificate of Occupancy are former State Governors, State Assembly members and the Security formations in Bayelsa State including the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Navy and the Joint Military Task Force code-named the Operation Delta Safe.

Governor Seriake Dickson, while speaking at the launch held at the Banquet Hall of the State Government House, said the presentation of lands to the former heads of state was in recognition to their contributions to Bayelsa and the nation at large.

Governor Dickson noted that his administration has, in the last seven and half years, building on the dreams of past administrations in the state,’ it took a lot of hardworking, dreams and vision.’

He called on the people present at the occasion to shun divisive rumours being peddled about Bayelsa State, ‘ the State is more united for development and at peace with itself. We encourage investment in real estate with the immediate signing of Certificate of Occupancy in spite of political differences.

Also speaking, the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan commended Governor Seriake Dickson for the landmark projects in the state including the New Yenagoa City project and said he is pleased with the state.

Jonathan also pointed out that a similar project was muted by his administration in the state before his elevation to the position of the Vice President, insisting that the Dickson administration is actually building on the dreams of the past administration.

In his submission as the Chairman of the Occasion, the former military president, Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, said he is delighted that the state has developed under the administration of Gov. Seriake Dickson. ‘I can’t believe that Yenagoa has developed to this level. Yenagoa is one of the fastest developing city in the country. The vision of the new Yenagoa City is laudable.”

Hope the owners of this lands, communities are well compensated because i know there's no free land in that state. Making a mistake that will make your 4th generation to curse your grave. you give land to former leaders from the north but you can't tell them how to use it

Benue governor capitalized on herdsmen/farmers crisis to win 2nd tenure This one who is owing salary is trying to capitalize on RUGA. Government has dropped the idea of RUGA. Mr governor stop drawing us backward

Dickson should focus on Bayelsa and leave the already dead RUGA matter.
Bayelsa is begging for development in spite of all the oil money going to the small state

RUGA that will gulp #2.2b in 2019 budget is dead? Don't be deceived.

It's only in PDP states that one gets to hear some good news in governance and developmental strides like new cities. APC states are all about Ruga, boko haram and cattle colony

So giving land out of the very tiny Bayelsa state to past heads of state and corrupt politicians is good news. Even IBB and Abdulsalami were given land in tiny Bayela state when Niger State which is Abdulsalami IBB's home state is bigger than all the five South Eastern states combined. Now we know the true Hausa/Fulani slaves.

Is it that nobody is reading the part where he's giving lands to former political leaders? These people are very rich already. Why give them the land that is not even sufficient enough for the poor citizens to buy cheaply?

Is this not a way of 'Rugalising' Bayelsa state? Why do these governors think like this?

Seriously the political class don't see the lower classes as humans though they were brought in by the citizens.
to be sincere ,i am shocked nobody complained the way the governor gave out state land like father Christmas.... You are the only one who saw the anomaly in the whole of front page.... Bayelsa that is so small , the foolish governor still gave out lands free of charge to the rich elite ....it is finished

1st of all, among those you mentioned, there are about 50 to 100 of others within the state and region you didn't mention who will be building too on that location. Equity.
2ndly, what you don't know is that that IBB, abdulsalaam etc given lands will have to develop them. By doing so, they are transferring a part of their wealth to bayelsa state. Transfer of wealth.
3rdly, all the people you mentioned will employ from skilled manpower like builders, architects down to the unskilled manpower like labourers, even bukka sellers at the site. Distribution of income.
4th, do you know that whether they are Hausa, Yoruba, igbo, ijaw or even Lebanese, by the time they develop the lands allocated to them, a high brow city is born in that state which will help drive the real estate value of the state to a whole new level. Real estate growth.
In a few years, with such initative, that tiny bayelsa state as you called it will have a greater real estate worth than Niger.

Son, you see, when rationale and economic driven decisions are being made, nobody will want kids like you witj myopic petty tribal filled sentiments near there.
