*Not sharing public funds is in line with public expectations - Kwara Must Change declares*

_Urges Governor Abdulrahman to remain firm_

Leading Pro-democracy group in Kwara state, Kwara Must Change has urged the Kwara State government under the able leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to stick to its mission of departing from the past in the allocation of public resources.

The group also hailed the governor for his decision to use public funds strictly for public development, adding that such progressive decision has the support of all progressive forces in Kwara state.

In a statement issued by Kwara Must Change convener, Abdulrazaq Hamzat on Tuesday, the group stated that the decision of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to depart from the past, where sharing public funds among few elites was the order of the day is highly commendable.

According to Hamzat, the people of Kwara State didn't vote for Abdulrahman to share money like it was obtainable in the past, this government was voted in so that it can depart from the past and the governor must resist every attempt to return kwara state to the past.

Hamzat maintained that, the governor's decision not to share public funds is in line with public expectations and majority of the people have nothing but praise for the government, adding that if Abdulrahman had departed from this sacred mission, the people would have been very disappointed.

Recall that the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had on Monday, during Durban celebration at the emir's palace stated that, he will not use public funds for self gratification.

He maintained that public funds will only be used for developmental projects and provisions of public services.

Kwara Must Change also explained that, if available resources are distributed among the political class, nothing would be left for development in the state thereby leaving Kwara permanently underdeveloped and such situation must never be allowed.

Hamzat therefore urges the people of Kwara, particularly the progressive forces to support the governor's effort to create sustainable development in the state for the benefits of all.
