Unknown gunmen killed a man identified as Tavershima Dega, in Zaki-Biam town of Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

The killing of Dega, popularly known as Degata, happened last Thursday, barely three days after the chairman of Zaki-Biam Yam Market, Tavershima Achinge, was shot dead at his residence.

Witnesses said the late Dega was shot dead at 8:00pm when he went to a pharmacy to purchase drugs for his ill wife.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state command, DSP Catherine Anene, said she could not immediately confirm the killing of Dega because she was yet to receive any briefing on the matter.

All this continued security lapses will continue for a long time,no need to decieve ourselves, politicians handle security with kids gloves and little investment or care and they expect the system to improve, until one or more of top politicians or their family gets affected, they wont care.
