The Nigeria forward opened his goal account for the season as the Yellow Submarines were held in their league opener on Saturday

Samuel Chukwueze was on target as Villarreal were held to a 4-4 draw by Granada in their opening La Liga fixture.

Chukwueze was in action for the entire 90 minutes as both teams settled for a share of the spoils at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Saturday.


The 20-year-old found the back of the net in the 73rd minute with his left-footed finish to give the hosts a 4-2 lead, although they conceded twice shortly after.

Cameroon duo Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Karl Toko Ekambi were also in action for Villarreal while Nigeria's Ramon Azeez replaced Cameroon's Yan Eteki in the 69th minute for Granada.

Villarreal will hope to claim their first win of the season when they visit Levante for their next league outing on August 23.

The guy's future is very bright

Chukwueze is one big talent the Nigerian national team has had in years, the last time we had something more classic was jay jay okocha. Pure talent is good but you have to apply wisdom for it to shine, okocha made mistakes in his career for failing to move to a big club, I just hope chukwueze don't make same mistake.

He shouldn't rush off to just any club that comes calling. You don't want a scenario whereby he'll move to a new side and start struggling or sitting on the bench... no sir.

He's better off in Villareal for say another one or two seasons so he can polish up his game and develop fully as a player.

True, the Villareal team is nowhere near the best but such platforms are what a budding player needs to improve on his game. Sometimes, you have to stoop in order to conquer.
