Mallam Shehu was reacting to the purported query of the Chairman of the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, Babatunde Fowler.
While stating that the FIRS boss was not under investigation, the presidency praised the service, under the watchful guide of Mr. Fowler for recording notable and commendable improvement – which culmunated to the increase of tax payers from 10 million to 20million adults.

“It is noteworthy and highly commendable that under this administration, the number of taxable adults has increased from 10 million to 20 million with concerted” The statement reads.

Government should attend to Nasu...it is not really going well..NO water and light in uniben hostel....since 19th....i wish i have a nice phone i will share a video how we are been treated.
Hostel toilet is been used without water to pass the waste off,NO light to read and run other things,insecurity on the side of the female hostel's GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO SOMETHING before things turn upside down.

just of recent Garba shehu was complaining about how tax revenues have reduced since 2015. He complained about how tax revenues prior to 2015 was higher, if tax payers have increased why are we having a down turn in revenue?

This, if it is factual, is a positive an commendable developement. Kudos to Buhari's goverment. But then with this and the full enforcement of TSA under this administration since 2015, it begs question to see a very insignificant infrastructural development accross the states of the nation.
Instead what we see is a rise in abject poverty. Buhari's govt has mopped up loose funds accross the nation more than any of the previous administrations. Loots have been recovered even from abroad. The question is, what does Buhari do with all the funds?

This is another unsubstantiated propaganda from the person benefiting from this failed government. There is a strong positive correlation between the number of taxpayers and amount of income tax generated. So if the number of taxpayers has increased from 10M taxpayers to 20M, then the total tax revenue generated by this failed government should have increased proportionately. However, if the tax revenue are stolen and never remitted to government coffers, you could have this situation where tax payer numbers increases but actual tax revenue decreases.

If the tax revenue is stolen, then it is an indictment to buhari and his failed government that they are actually corrupt. Buhari came to office with the promise to fight corruption, but so far corruption has worsened under his watch. Key government officials like Abba Kyari who work closely with buhari have all been accused of stealing of public funds. Despite these allegations, buhari has turned blind eye to these and refused to investigate his closes allies.
