The Economic and Financial Crime Commission(EFCC ), operatives, have raided the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode residence, in connection with the ongoing probe allegation of N9.9bn fraud.

EFCC also raided the house of the chief of staff to the past Governor both mansion were searched in Epe.

The nation reports that, the agency had earlier received order from the court to freez three accounts containing N9.9bn linked to the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode.
Mr. Tony Orilade, who is The Acting Head of Media and publicity of the EFCC, said: ” our men have been drafted to the residence of Ambode and his former Chief of staff in Epe in respect of our investigation. They are there as I speak with you”.

Another reliable source said: ” The initial target of the operatives in Epe was the former Chief of staff. But following more clues on the spot, our operatives moved to Ambode’s residence.

The nation also reported that, the EFCC said juctice Chuka Obiozor of the Federal High Court situated in Ikoyi, Lagos, orederd the freezing of N9.9bn belonging to the Lagos State Government.

It is said: ” The fund are domiciled variously in First City Monument Bank account number 5617984012; Access Bank account number 0060949275; and Zenith Bank account number 1011691254, respectively.
“Justice Chuka Obiozor gave the order, following an ex parte application field by the EFCC”.

“The EFCC had prayed the court to freeze the account pending the conclusion of investigations and possible prosecution of Adewale Adesanya, the Permanent Secretary in the office of the chief of staff to former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode”.

The judge adjourned the proceedings to 9th Semptember, 2019.
