Its quiet unfortunate that some some landlords still think like this. personally i advice my landlord client against such remarks. but as you know they would only answer you rudely or be sarcastic about it.

My general advise to would be tenenants is that you shouldn't even go where you are not truly welcomed. cos its just a sign of things you would negatively encounter there.
