Accident that occurred at Iyana Mortuary area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Friday, had left a fully kitted Nigerian army officer identified as R. A Nata'ala, dead.

According to Ogun State Corps Commander/Chief Executive officer Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(TRACE), Olaseni Ogunyemi, the accident occurred at about 10.20 Am, it involved a (six tyers) truck with registration number JJJ 833 XY, a Mazda car APP 272 DH and the army's motorcycle numbered, PKA 567 QD.

Ogunyemi who spoke through, Deji Daudu, the Abeokuta Divisional Commander, said the truck was fully loaded with granite coming from Ajebo-Idi-Abo road heading towards Ijaiye, still in Abeokuta town, have it break failed and swerved its lane, hits the Mazda car and crushed the soldier ridding his motorcycle to death.

The accident occurred, according to him, barely an hour he left a commercial motor garage at Iyana Mortuary, where he lead some operatives to lecture vehicle owners and drivers on the important of obeying traffic rules and regulations.

He said the dead victim’s body has been taken to the State Hospital Mortuary at Ijaiye, also in Abeokuta and the damaged vehicle has been towed out of the road to enable free flow of traffic with the assistance of the FRSC and NSCDC.
