CoolScculpting and SculpSure are both non-invasive fat-reducing procedures which are designed to get rid of the spots that other procedures are unable to eliminate. The ASPS reported a 7% rise in these procedures in 2017.

What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting, also called cryolipolysis, is a deep-freeze surgical procedure performed to freeze and kill fat cells. To perform coolSculpting, an applicator that looks like a giant vacuum hose applies suction to the area of concentration where the fat needs to be removed. The applicator then applies carefully controlled cooling plates which bring fat cells down to a temperature at which they are permanently damaged. CoolSculpting procedure normally takes about 35 minutes.

After the coolSculpting process, fat cells will eventually die and be removed from the body. Results will become evident after a few weeks with the final effects shown in three months.
CoolSculpting can be used to eliminate any unwanted bulge including back fat, upper arms, love handles, bra fat, thighs, and banana roll underneath your butt ad double chin. However, a person would need to have enough fat for the applicator to pinch for the treatment to be effective.

What is SculpSure?
SculpSure is almost similar to CoolSculpting. Though Sculpsure tend to arrive at the same result as CoolSculpting, but the approach is opposite. Sculpsure uses heat to destroy fat cells, instead of freezing fat cells as used in CoolSculpting.

During a SculpSure treatment, applicators are placed over the area of focus and a laser is introduced to heat fat in the treatment area to the point of permanent damage. The damaged fat cells are then swept away by the lymphatic system of the body. It takes about three months for results to become visible, just like CoolSculpting.

The FDA approves SculpSure to treat the stomach, thighs, and the double chin. Most treatments take about 25 minutes.

How to Decide the Best Procedure for You

CoolSculpting and SculpSure procedures are both approved to treat almost all areas where stubborn fat is common. There are still a few things to consider when selecting between treatments.

You should know that SculpSure must reach a fairly high temperature, and this can be quite uncomfortable. However, your skin won’t get burnt because SculpSure treatment is designed to be safe for skin. It has a cool built-in cycle that heats fat cells to 107 degrees. For people with sensitive skin, it can be painful. However, CoolSculpting is less uncomfortable, since the cooling action will have a numbing effect.

Also, you need to consider how much fat you want to get rid of. A person who has more fat to remove may go for CoolSculpting since the treatment requires a solid pinch of fat to hold onto. However, Sculpsure may be ideal for you if you are in good physical shape but have some excess stubborn fat that even the most strenuous workout can’t burn.

The major benefits associated with CoolSculpting and Sculpsure procedures is that there are little or no risks. Though you might expect some soreness, light bruising, or swelling afterwards.

However, both treatments are a little expensive. Data from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, asserts that the average cost of non-surgical fat-reduction treatments like CoolSculpting and SculpSure are about $1,500 in 2016.

Note: You might need to perform more than one session to obtain credible results. Ensure you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon for treatment.

Does CoolSculpting and SculpSure Actually Work?
Results from a trial published in Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology in 2014, indicated that CoolSculpting showed pretty impressive results, which is up to a 25 percent reduction in subcutaneous fat in the treatment area. However, about 14 percent of participants didn’t see any notable improvements according to same study.

There is not much data available on SculpSure for now. However, one review of non-invasive body-contouring devices published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology established that SculpSure treatment led to 11 percent fat reduction.

Fat cells are actually eliminated with CoolSculpting or SculpSure, which is a lasting change. However, returning to unhealthy diet and lifestyle after the procedure, weight gain can overshadow the slimming effects. Always maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to maintain the results.
