As the movie industry continues to grow so does the renumeration of actors and actresses with many being paid millions of dollars for a starring role.

Here we take a look at the Top Ten highest paid actresses for the year 2019.
The world’s 10 highest-paid actresses collectively earned about $315 million between June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019, before fees and taxes. That’s up 69% since last year, but still far less than the almost $600 million the top 10 leading men pulled in.

10. Ellen Pompeo
Estimated earnings: $22 million
The actress who starred in Grey’s Anatomy proves network television isn’t dead quite yet. She earns about $575,000 per episode to star in and produce the ABC hit show.

9. Charlize Theron
Estimated earnings: $23 million
Theron’s production company, Denver and Delilah Productions, produced her 2019 film
Long Shot and is also behind the Netflix series Mindhunter. The South African born 44-year old is also set to star with fellow listees Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie in the December film Bombshell.

8. Margot Robbie
Estimated earnings: $23.5 million
Robbie is expected to serve as producer for the upcoming Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) while also reprising her role of Harley Quinn. The rumour is that she has been paid an eight-figure sum upfront for the project.

7. Elisabeth Moss
Estimated earnings: $24 million
The two time Emmy and Globe awards winner serves as executive producer on her Hulu star-vehicle The Handmaid’s Tale.

6. Kaley Cuoco
Earnings: $25 million
Until The Big Bang Theory ended earlier this year, Cuoco was part of the highest-paid cast on network television, earning $900,000 per episode.

5. Jennifer Aniston
Estimated earnings: $28 million
The 50-year old daughter of actor John Aniston and actress Nancy Dow is coming back to television. The Friends actress is set to star in and produce Apple TV+’s The Morning Show.

4. Nicole Kidman
Estimated earnings: $34 million
After wrapping up season two of Big Little Lies, the Australian-American multi-award winning actress continues her busy year with starring roles in Bombshell and The Goldfinch.

3. Reese Witherspoon
Estimated Earnings: $35 million
Witherspoon has embraced the title of producer. She will produce, though not star in, upcoming films Lucy in the Sky and The Dry. The “Morning Show” star was rumoured to be earning $1.25 million per episode on the hit show.

2. Sofia Vergara
Estimated Earnings: $44.1 million
The eleventh and final season of Modern Family premieres this fall, but the Colombian-American actress, model, and comedian’s wallet will be just fine: she still has her lucrative entrepreneurial ventures, including Sofia Jeans and a furniture line at Rooms To Go.

Estimated Earnings: $56 million
For the second year in a row, Johansson is the world’s highest-paid actress thanks to her lucrative role as Black Widow, for which she earns an eight-figure sum. The screen goddesses turns head everywhere whether on the red carpet or when kicking butts in Avengers.
