Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin KBE (16 April 1889 – 25 December 1977) was an English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film. 1) Charlie in 1952 was banned by the US government for his fame in revolutionary film and placed on an FBI black list in 1948, which prevented him from working in Hollywood. However, in his words he said, “I do not want to create any revolution. All I want to create is a few more films. I might amuse people. I hope so.”
