Joe Abah and anyone who criticises this is being silly. There has been insecurities in the country and especially from the north and any such movements needs to be checked. 7 Likes |

Babtech001: The same Joe Abah will say tomorrow that what were the security forces doing when people infiltrated lagos...... Talk is free ....if govt acts they say why ....if govt does not act you still say why.....Talk and no positive action Are the quality of people who travel by air and by road the same?....the public that tipped off the operatives saw it was an unusual mass movement. What did he do to move nigeria forward during his time in government?, he should come and lecture me |

Most of them don't even look Nigerian They could be Malians, Chadians or from Niger Republic, The North voted an incompetent man back to power, now they are suffering the fallouts of his incompetence & abandoning their lands enmasse to go & try to survive in other people's towns & forests. Can you ever see a Yoruba or IBO man living in other people's bush or begging in other lands? They have destroyed their areas with bad & hostile religious & cultural practices and are now looking for where to carry same behavior to go & destroy . these may even be mercenaries & could be hiding guns under the seats of the okadas. The chicken are coming home to roost, they should go back & settle with their oppressor bandits, herdsmen & kidnappers; the govs of Zamfara, Katsina are already begging the hoodlums, after Kaduna gov bribed them. Una never see anything. Send Dem BACK!!!

Who is this daft, and he rose to the position of DG? Ofcourse poor people are foot soldiers of the terrorists all over including Boko haram. How can they bring in motorbikes registered in a different state to another state for the poupose earning a living without proper documentation if not for sinister motives. |

Joe Abah lost me when he compared the number of people entering lagos via the airport to those using road transport, you are required when boarding a plane to provide your passport number or some means of identification, you can be traced, this is not the case for those who were intercepted in the truck, there is no visible means of identification, so it becomes a security issue. |

englishmart: Yes the he failed to see the location these people where coming from and the security implications/concerns that may be involved. It has nothing to do with with poverty. If these people came in 20years ago like this I’m sure nobody will raise an eyebrow bt times have changed and we must wake up to the realities and handle the situation with the necessary attention it needs. 1 Like |

As far as we are in the same country I do not see anything wrong with coming to lagos like a cattle. If we don't want them in the SW or anywhere outside the North let us sing the song of restructuring with one voice. Then we can document anybody coming outside our regions and keep an eye on them. It smacks of hypocrisy when we shout one Nigeria easily and frown when Nigerians want to live their life as one Nigerian. I can only condemn if they are undocumented Chad Ian or Nigeriens. 3 Likes 1 Share |

TOPCRUISE: How do you know that they are Nigerians? You can only know this if they are subjected to checks; and that's what's about to go on. Seeing from recent insecurity challenges going on everywhere and especially in the north, every state has to be careful! Very very careful! |

wellmax:Any person trying to come into any space through the airways will not move without a thorough checking and profiling at both the points of entry and exits; not to talk of a number of people of such magnitude. If any group of terrorists, whether Fulani or not, try to enter through the airspace of any serious country or state and they are recognized as such; of course, they would not only be treated similar way, they would be decimated instantly. That is how serious security issue is all over the world. 2 Likes |

itsme01: How can you compare a former federal capital territory with a state? Or don't you know that Lagos was shaped as it is because of the spendings by both federal government and the private sector due to its old federal capital status? That's why you have people of all sorts flock down there due to its former federal capital status which has already become a norm. If you say it's because of the sea ports; the South-South (Port Harcourt, Warri and Calabar) could have been in the same level or status. But that isn't so because they aren't accorded a federal capital status and as a result, you have little or slow development in terms of infrastructure and human capital. Stop bragging about Lagos when you and I know that it was built by the wealth generated from other regions of the country most especially South-South (Crude Oil). What do Lagos produce in terms of raw material or minerals? |

truthsayer009: The drive to do that started with fashola. He tried but citizens logged into their social media and bad mouthed his attempt and he backed off. I dont think okada has any impact on fashola. The people that will directly bear the good or bad of okada stories told him not to ban it so he listened and left it alone. I dont blame him. People must suffer the atrocities associated with okada enough so when another administration makes attempt it will get widespread support. In the north about 5 okada just pull up in middle of people and start shooting and get high casulaty. We are not seeing that yet....and i hope we never do in South. But we wont say govt was not proactive to ban it before it happened. 1 Like |
