You see the problem with we Nigerians, we don't think our actions through before proceeding. Is this not executive rascality? The same scenario that led to the P&ID case? As a responsible government, the first thing to do is ensure you cancel any existing contracts, communicate such cancellations appropriately before engaging another business entity. The same complacency and incompetence by officials involved in the P&ID case is the same that is playing out here. And when they take advantage of our leaders incompetence we start screaming scam!!

No be una fault. You were awarded a contract since 2003( 16years ago ) without any substantial development on the project and you are here talking rubbish.
In some other countries, when you are given a contract in such area of national interest, you will be required to state when the contract will be ready, failure to meet up with the stated date and grace period attracts penalty but the reverse is the case in Nigeria. Here they use one silly excuses to delay the contract and then have subsequent government to review the contract amount upward. God will punish everyone(citizens and foreigners) that has vow to impoverish this country and it's people.

See them now again reneging on already established contract agreement they met or signed again with the company but later will start looking for who to blame.

Meanwhile, how on earth does Abba Kyari single handedly re-assigned the same contract to 3 other companies without FEC authorization or informing the primary contractor?
Come is it that some Nigerians don't have sense or something
imagine what this one is trying to say

a company that was awarded a contract since 2003, abi u don forget Mambila ni?

u wan try blame this government? must everything be politics, why not reason out of hatred and analyze based on facts

if the contract was signed in a more civilized country without mambilla doing anything tangible since 2003 don't u think MOU would have been cancelled and contracted awarded to a more competent company?

but both the people that signed the contract on behalf of nigeria and mambila themselves are bunch of thieves, y una dey quickly forget something but blame ppl base on the hate you have for them

until when we start putting politics aside and criticize and hold people respossible irrespective of where the people is from Nigeria will never get to the promise land, because we're our own problem!!!!

The issue is not whether they are suppose to award the contract to another company, the issue is how it was done. Did the legally terminate the contract? Did the attorney general check all the relevant clauses with regards to the contract and ensured that due process was followed? If the answer is yes, they don't have a case.
But then knowing Nigeria, my mind tells me the govt have committed a legal blunder on this issue. I won't be surprised that those criminal contractors intentionally set a trap for the Nigerian govt knowing fully well that they will fall for it since they are incapable of doing anything right.

mambilla power project started In 1982. I know you want to blame the delay on PDP as if Nigeria started existing in 1999.

No I don’t want to blame pdp. I want to blame the past presidents that didn’t do anything about a contract awarded 16 years ago. Obj awarded the contract. And his 2 successor couldn’t do nothing about it. For a reason we don’t know. We all know the project will improve the power problem we are facing. But for one problem or the other, nothing was done till it was awarded to the Chinese. Now the company is now crying fowl.

The only solution to this rubbish is for African countries to stop patronizing and awarding contacts to these western companies. They are facing economic difficulties at the moment, and China is booming, investing in Africa, South America and around the world while the European economies are in deep crisis from Greece, Italy, and others, UK is on the way to her economy recession very soon.

Now, they have seen China and Africa dominating the global economy in the next decade reason why Trump is doing everything possible to destroy Chinese economy, Huawei, and many other Chinese companies. African leaders listen and listen to me, Europe, your former boss is going down economically and they would do everything possible to destroy you, from causing internal crises, terrorism, court cases etc. PLEASE AVOID WESTERN COMPANIES

Seriously, since 2003 and you didn't do anything to deliver it and you are making noise. I think the only thing that makes these European countries to act the way they do is because Nigeria as a nation wants to change their base in doing business. It benefits us to do business with China than European countries. That is their annoyance.

You get it. Did you see my post above? They are jealous of China and at the moment, they do not have the bigger economy control like before. Things are going south for them.

A contract awarded in 2003, what did they do between 2003 to 2017 on the project. We should ask the company this question before asking APC Led Government why they rewarded the project to another three Chinese companies.

We need to resolve issues in Nigeria from the root before blaming any current government.

Your foolishness should be asking you how on earth would they award a contract for 16 years and till now it's not nearing completion. This are issues keeping us behind and this government is struggling hard to correct all ills of the past governments but keeps getting burnt With silly comments from Nigerians like you all for the hate for Buhari. This contract supposed to have been completed in 2007, 12 years later they are crying for re awarding an abandoned project. You can't keep a whole nation at stand still for your incompetence. What you should know is no real investor would keep their money on a project for that long Without completing it and starts generating returns on investments. This means it's some thieves in government that awards the contract to themselves and starts stealing from us to finance the project so when the project is done they will be claiming the returns to themself. If not a real foreign investor would push in cash to complete and make it operation as fast as possible.

So, you want government to provide funding for a BOT contract? What then is the essence of the BOT arrangement?
