South African music star, AKA, has subtly backtracked in his support for xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other foreigners in his country, Igbere TV reports.

AKA had come under attack following his insensitive tweets, where he severally supported the actions and instigated his followers against Nigerians.

Igbere TV reports that the move, however, did not go down well with the artist, with Nigerian music stars including Wizkid, Burna boy, Davido berating him.

But retracing his steps in a tweet sighted by Igbere TV on Thursday, the South African artist called for an end to the attacks on foreigners.

“PLEASE!!! Can we STOP. We are going to make things worse for everybody on both sides. We need each other! ���� ... please. Can we stop. We are supposed to be leading our people”, he wrote.
