Abacha pulled nigerian super eagles out of the African nations cup in 1996 because it was held in South africa....
So what happened next....
We couldn't defend our title, we were banned from the 1998 edition n that greatly affected our performance at the 1998 world cup since the team had been uncompetitive for a long time....
On the other hand, south Africa went ahead to win the 1996 edition in the absence of Nigeria....

Abacha gave 2 fingers to western nations when nigeria was sanctioned for his atrocious activities......
Yet he was busy looting nigerian money n saving in Swiss n uk banks....
Western oil companies completely dominated the nigerian oil industry selling oil wells to abacha cronies....
And to u guys, he's a great no nonsense leaders.....

Do u know who suffered the sanctions heavily imposed on nigeria...
The masses.....the middle class was wiped off n public institution crumbled....ask your elders what's called abacha stove....

I'm not surprised today's youths can praise abacha....
