Xenophobia: Akingboye Condemn Attacks by OBA4GovOndo2020: 11:17am On Sep 05, 2019 |
Press Statement 04/09/2019 Xenophobia: Akingboye Condemns Attacks Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA), a businessman, philanthropist, leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant in the upcoming Ondo 2020 elections and a strong United Africa crusader condemns in strong terms, the increasing attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. Akingboye describes the brutal attacks as ugly, callous, lugubrious; unexpected of a race sharing common heritage. South Africans should not forget so easily the roles and sacrifices of Nigerians and other African Nations in liberating them from the oppressive jackboots of the colonialists during the apartheid regime. The business tycoon is surprised that what Africa which is in dire need of development to be on the same pedestal with other continents can bring to the table is xenophobia. Akinboye urges Africans to protect the cords that binds us together rather than envying the successes of fellow blacks, preaching that the code of the African brotherhood should be revisited to stop this naked dance in the front of the universe. Otunba Akingboye charges all concerned institutions ranging from the African Union (AU), Economic of West African States (ECOWAS) and the federal government of Nigeria to take sincere and decisive actions as their continuous silence and inactions poses a greater danger to our continuous coexistence as a race. Signed Oyeniyi Iwakun Press Secretary to Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA)
