Presidential candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has confirmed that the former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe was a hero of the African liberation struggle.


Speaking about the dead former Zimbabwean president on his official Twitter handle, the former president of Nigeria joined other leaders in the world to confirm that Robert Mugabe was a hero that lovednhis country and its people.

Atiku said that although no one is perfect, Mugabe loved his country and its people, and took practical and patriotic steps to improve their well being.

"Robert Mugabe was a hero of the African liberation struggle. No man is perfect and he had his flaws, but nobody can take this fact away from him: That he loved his country and its people, and took practical and patriotic steps to improve their well being", Atiku tweeted.
