An almost tragic incident occurred overnight at Minna International Airport when an airplane carrying more than 600 pilgrims returning from the 2019 annual pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia crash landed.

Although no one was injured or died in the incident, the passengers all panicked. The aircraft was said to be Boeing 744 with registration number 5N / DBK, slipping on the runway after experiencing a technical error in one of its tires.

The Nation reported that the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hajia Hassana Isah confirmed the incident but gave no further details.

A Twitter user who revealed that his cousin was among the plane passengers, said the incident occurred because the control tower was not ready to receive them.
