Angry mob on Sunday, September 8, 2019 in Calabar, Cross River State capital, have prepared a suspected thief to set him ablaze.

PARADISE NEWS learnt that the barbaric act happened at Mayne Avenue by Murray Street in Calabar South local government area during the afternoon period of the day.

Our Correspondent further gathered that the petty thief was apprehended while trying to steal from a shop in the area.

He was beaten by the mob as they put car tyres around his neck to lynch him.

"One or two persons said they have reached out to the police and the police said they are on their way," Our Correspondent said. But, at the time of filing this report, the police were yet to arrive the scene.
