Tecno Camon 12 Air brings back a forgotten memory, with an interesting display-O screen. The Camon series is not always got an ‘Air’ version. The first we saw was a few years ago, when the company introduced the CX Air, alongside the Camon CX. Other Camon series since then had been without the ‘Air’ version except for the just-announced Camon 12-series, which is also the first time Tecno is launching 3 variants of its Camon devices.
Now the most interesting part of the Camon 12 Air is the screen. The device does not only have a large 6.55-inch HD+ display but came with a punch-hole display, (display) wherein the front-facing camera is hidden. This means that the phone should have a relatively compact body despite its large screen estate. The display uses IPS panel, with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution, a boast above 85% screen-to-body.
Under the hood, there is an Octa-core MediaTek MT6762 Helio P22 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz and integrated with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
On the camera department, the Camon 12 Air packs triple rear sensors at the back, a combination of 16M + 5MP + 2MP sensors, while leaving the selfie duties to be handled by single 8-megapixel sensors, hidden in the hole upfront.
It also comes with a rear placed fingerprint scanner and support for 4G LTE network on its triple card slot. Since this is a semi tablet, a 4000mAh battery is built-in, to supply the device with current, while ensuring that users are not denied the latest Android 9.0 moniker, through Tecno’s own proprietary HiOS v5.5.
