[VIDEO] Xenophobia: Nigerian returnees sing national anthem
Published

September 12, 2019
The 187 returnees comprising men, women, and children who are part of the 640 Nigerians registered for evacuation following the xenophobic attacks in South Africa arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, at 9:34pm on Wednesday.

These ones were captured in a video clip singing the national anthem with so much enthusiasm.

About 313 were billed to leave on Wednesday, but most of them could not travel with the first flight due to lack of travel documents.

Please stop suggesting that all 50 million black South Africans have nothing else to do other than to hunt Nigerians for extrajudicial killing.
No Nigerian has ever died during a spate of violance in this country. Even diring the recent spate of violance which was triggered by the murder of a South African taxi driver, no Nigerian was killed. 10 South Africans and 2 Zimbabweans died.
Ask the Nigerian Consul General, the Ambassador or any Nigerian who knows what is happening. They will tell you that most Nigerians who die here on a regular basis are killed by Nigerian cultists and criminals. Some, like some locals and other Africans, died in police custody. The Independent Police Investigations Directorate is investigating those cases and some cases are already subjudice (being decided in a court). The case of the late Ms Ndubuisi can't be investigated by the IPID because she didn't die in custody of the police and so far, there's no sign anywhere that they could even have been involved.
It's a very rare case that, in my view, will need more than 100 % collaboration of the very best brains and other resources our two countries have at their disposal.
