So, Nigerians have been discussing their Upwork travails for years. Truth be told, Nigerians have been earning big, although it isn't the same story for most Nigerians. There is however hope, just remain consistent in it, and you'll get there. I've been on Upwork for over three years, it took me almost a year to get to top rated. Even at top rated, jobs don't come to me, most times, I still apply for them. But then, we keep pushing.
