The raging power tussle for the Presidency in 2023 may have again led to the relocation of some aides of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbanjo out of the Presidential Villa. On Monday, September 16, the Federal Government set up a new economic team. President Muhammadu Buhari had appointed Prof. Yemi Osinbajo chairman of the Economic Management Team in his first term. In previous administrations, the position was held first by the Vice President and, thereafter, by the minister of finance. Osinbajo has no role in the new economic team. Yesterday, another strike landed: some of Osinbajo’s aides would, henceforth, operate from outside the Presidential Villa. So finally, the cabal successfully succeeded in relinquishing power from the hands of this professor of law. Indeed, he's now even lower than a mere commissioner El-Rufai said he is. The only power left for him right now is paying condolences as if they're wishing him to soon join the dead. In other climes, this guy would've honourably bowed out but whatever happens to our elders in this part of the world has erased shame from their faces due to the allowances being enjoyed. |
