Hello readers welcome to another blog post, so today we are going to talk all about whiter teeth. Normally it is recommended to see a dentist at least three to four times yearly and part of the things dentist do is help you with teeth whitening. Things are pretty hard in Nigeria and the fact is that the average Nigerian can't afford to go to a dentist that's a fact. There are certain measures you can take even though you don't have the luxury of visiting a dentist as often as you would like just to make sure your teeth remains healthy. Today the focus will be on the measures you can take for whiter teeth, I of course am not a dentist but these are just measures I found works for me and others I know. STAY AWAY FROM DARK DRINKS AND FOOD(PREVENTION): This I was actually doing sub consciously because I just never liked dark drinks ever. What I mean by dark drinks are mostly drinks with dark colors like black tea, coke, coffee, beverages e. t. c, so basically anything that contains caffeine. The dark colors in these drinks tend to cause yellowing your teeth. People who drink a lot of coffee if you notice have really yellowish teeth. BAKING SODA: Baking soda has really good way to whiten your teeth over time, it is a good abrasive agent and wipes off surface READ THE REST HERE http://www.prettymundne.com/2019/09/habits-to-form-for-whiter-teeth-nigeria.html

Understanding the Anatomy of a Tooth with Zoom36 Dental Clinic Nigeria The human tooth is a remarkable example of organic engineering, designed to withstand the stresses of a eating, speaking, and other engagements. Let's explore the four main components of tooth anatomy: enamel, dentin, pulp, and root. Enamel: The Outer Protective Layer Enamel is the tough, outermost layer of the tooth crown, recognized as the hardest substance in the human body. It is primarily composed of hydroxyapatite, a crystalline form of calcium phosphate. Function and Benefits: • Protection: Enamel guards the tooth against physical damage and decay, shielding the inner layers from acids and bacteria that cause cavities. • Durability: Its hardness enables it to withstand the forces of biting and chewing. • Aesthetics: Enamel provides teeth with their white colour, contributing to a healthy smile. Dentin: The Supportive Structure Dentin is the porous, yellow tissue beneath the enamel that forms the bulk of the tooth. Although softer than enamel, it remains highly mineralized. Function and Benefits: • Shock Absorption: Dentin acts as a cushion, absorbing the stresses of chewing and protecting the delicate inner structures. • Sensitivity: Microscopic tubules within the dentin transmit sensory information, allowing you to feel sensations of hot, cold, and pressure, alerting you to potential dental issues. • Support: Dentin provides structural support for the enamel, preventing fractures under pressure. Pulp: The Vital Core At the centre of the tooth lies the pulp, a mass of soft tissue containing nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. The pulp extends from the crown to the roots through the root canals. Function and Benefits: • Nutrition: Blood vessels in the pulp supply essential nutrients and oxygen, ensuring the tooth's health and vitality. • Sensation: Nerves in the pulp allow you to feel pain, which is crucial for detecting tooth decay or trauma. • Development: During tooth development, the pulp generates dentin through a process called dentinogenesis. Root: The Anchoring System The root is the part of the tooth embedded in the jawbone, anchoring the tooth securely. It is covered by cementum and held in place by the periodontal ligament. Function and Benefits: • Stability: The root anchors the tooth firmly in the jawbone, providing stability during chewing and biting. • Periodontium Support: The root collaborates with surrounding tissues, such as gums and bone, to support the overall dental structure. • Connection: The root canal system extends the pulp into the root, maintaining the tooth's health and vitality. Each part of the tooth plays a crucial role in dental health and function: enamel protects, dentin supports and senses, pulp nourishes and signals, and the root stabilizes.
