Over the years Google have banned so many Google AdSense account (Adsense publishers) due to ads click bombings commonly referred to as Invalid Clicks even when the Adsense publishers knew nothing about the invalid clicks? You may also become a victim of this circumstance of you fail to take precautionary measures to stop click bombings on your website or blog.

This click bombs are usually perpetrated by competing publishers or what I called “Business enemies” and people who ignorantly do it.

WHAT IS ADS CLICK BOMBING

Ads Click bombing in respect to Google AdSense is the act of over clicking on the adverts served by a particular AdSense publisher from a specific Internet Protocol (IP) address.

There are few plugins that serve this purpose but this article will focus on Adsense Publishers on WordPress which is the most popular content management system CMS in the world and undoubtedly 70% of Adsense publishers are using WordPress CMS.

The best WordPress plugin so far for the task is called AdSense Invalid Click Protector (AICP) developed by Saumya Majumder.

Below Are The Features of AICP Plugin:

- Setup the allowed number of clicks on ads per IP address within a specific time.

- You can select the countries you wish to display your ads to.

- Block any IP address that exceeds the click limit of your ads ( this banned IP address will be able to surf your website but your ads won’t be shown to it).

- Shows the statistics of banned IP addresses

- Shows statistics of banned countries.

Adsense Invalid Click Protector (AICP) is compatible with WordPress version 4.2 up to the latest version of WordPress with an active installation of about 8000 as at the time of writing. The plugin also requires a PHP version of 5.0 and above (check this with your host or Cpanel).

PLUGIN INSTALLATION

The plugin installation isn’t different from the way other plugins are being installed on the WordPress platform.

From your WordPress Dashboard, on the left side of the dashboard, hover over plugin and click on “add new”, type in AICP to search for the plugin and plugin full name will appear Adsense Invalid Click Protector (AICP).

Click on install and after the installation, click on activate to activate the plugin.

PLUGIN SETUP

On the left side of your dashboard locate and click on Adsense Invalid Click Protector to begin the setup as follows:

Set the Ad Click Limit: Here you set the maximum ads click limit where a visitor can click within a specific time frame which you’ll set the time below. The recommended ad click limit is 2.

Click Counter Cookie Expiration Time: This is the maximum allowed time for a visitor not to repeat more than 2 clicks on your ads. By default it is 3 hours but I recommend 6 hours.
Set the Visitor Ban Duration: Set the duration a visitor should be banned. I think 7 days is cool.

Do you want to use IP-API Pro Key? : By default this plugin is free and the free version is suitable for sites with less than 15,000 daily views because the free version allows only 150 requests per minute (the number of requests to display ads per minutes and note that some sites may have up to 6 ads per page).

Provide Your IP-API Key: for premium users, provide you IP-API pro key.
Do you want to block showing ads for some specific countries? : If you also want to block ads from displaying to some certain countries for instance low CPC countries, you can choose YES.

Banned Country List ISO Alpha-2 Country Codes: If you choose to block some countries from viewing your ads, you can provide a comma separated ISO Alpha-2 Country codes. For example if you want to ban Nigeria and India their respectively ISO Alpha-2 code are NG and IN.

After the plugin setup, it’s now time to integrate the ads code into your website using the plugin. There are two ways to achieve this either by using a PHP function or by the use of short code. From my years of experience with this plugins on different WordPress themes, the most easiet methos is the PHP function method which is also the recommended one for people with zero coding experience to avoid playing around with your theme’s source code.

To use the PHP function method, put your ad code between the PHP function if(acip_can_see_ads()) { /* your ads code here */ } and thereafter enclose your ad code in this div tag <div class=”aicp”> Your ad code here </div>

Let’s do an example here

if(acip_can_see_ads()) {

<div class=”aicp”>

<script async src=”//..com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>

<!– large rectangle –>

<ins class=”adsbygoogle”

style=”display:inline-block;width:336px;height:280px”

data-ad-client=”ca-pub-******070*****”

data-ad-slot=”****69*****”></ins>

<script>

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

</script>

</div>

}
