Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that it is very important and more beneficial for Nigeria as a nation to remain together than divided.

Rather than promoting division, Nigerians should continue to promote unity and togetherness,” Osinbajo said on Saturday in Osogbo while delivering the Eighth Convocation lecture of the Osun State University.

He spoke on the theme “Six Decades of Chequered Nationhood: Nigeria Still Holds The Key To Africa’s Development”.

It is not true that our diversity is an impediment to our sustainability; our strength is in our size.

Great nations are those that stay together despite their diversity.

Going our separate ways will not solve our problems; staying together will be of great benefit to us.

Nigeria still holds the key to Africa’s development and remains a regional champion.

Our manifest destiny is to lead Africa and the world, so we must be united.

Nigeria’s outstanding endowments are facing challenges, but the nation must follow the path that made other nations great.”

He emphasised the need for Nigeria to embrace merit over quota in appointments, and also invest in human development capital.

The Vice President said that President Muhammadu Buhari was doing everything possible to lift Nigerians out of poverty.

The Federal Government is investing in infrastructure, agriculture, education, power, technology, innovation and social investment programmes to empower Nigerians.

On a daily basis, the Federal Government feeds 9.5 million children under its National School Feeding Programme in 26 states in the country.

Already, 520 Nigerians have been engaged under the N-Power programme, while Tradermoni programme to empower petty traders is still ongoing,” he said.

THE DETRIMENT OF CBN AND THE BREAK OF A NATION
By Emmanuel,
Recall that Mr Emefiele a former Managing director of Zenith Bank of Nigeria was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan to head the CBN in June 2014.He was the governor of central bank when Nigeria slipped into the worst recession in 29 years. Mr. Emefiele was re-nominated for five years tenure by president buhari.
Within the space of 4 month November 12, 2014, the Central Bank of Nigeria issued a 100 naira commemorative note to celebrate the centennial of Nigeria's existence under leadership of Mr. Emefiele. The notes are similar to its regular issue with the portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo on the front, but are redesigned to include a new color scheme, revised security features, and the text (Islamic inscription) this triggered lots of tension in the country and the north rejected the currency but it was later accepted in arrangement that both the new and the old note exist.
A new economic team was appointed by the president on Monday and Mr. Emefele was reappointed. Here is the game plan for those who are still confuse (experts in the financial sector say they are unsure of the thinking behind the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decision to effect N50 per N1000 transaction online.) over the economic crisis facing Nigeria. First this is what it means you pay in N300000 Online, you are charged N15, 000. Your balance becomes N285, 000. You withdrew this balance of 285,000. You receive 270,000. Your charges for withdrawing and depositing your hard earned money become N30, 000.
THE GAME PLAN IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE ISLAMISATION OF NIGERIA AND THE GOVERNOR OF CBN A PERFECT TOOL
Recall on May 12, 2019. Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the cenral Bank of Nigeria and his Deputy Edward Lametek Adamu and the Director for Finance Dayo M. Arowosegbe including one of the Special Advisers to the CBN governor, Emmanuel Ukeje have been caught on tape discussing how to cover up the loss of over N500billion stolen from the CBN in a private investment that went burst. Taj Bank Limited was issued with a non-interest banking license as the only lender with regional (Islamic) authorization the governor Emefiele issued the license through the directives of Mr. president as purportedly put forward by Mrs Ezekwesili on her Twitter page it is clear that the governor is under pressure, the next line of action will be resignation and a northerner will be install what a perfect plan.
According to Mrs Ezekwesili said, Buhari led Nigeria into deep crisis due to bad policies he issued to Central Bank of Nigeria and ministry of finance to implement. The Economy is in deep crisis because of extremely bad Policies that the President commanded the Central Bank, Ministry of Finance and other related establishments to implement.in avoidance of doubt It was not the President that was in charge of the economy. It was the VP chairing the Economic Team’ please don’t bother. The President was managing the economy. All those bad monetary policy decisions were made by him.The EMT was in reality chaired by the VP who had no power over core economic policy decisions.

The best way Nigeria's Unity can be cemented is by the election of Nigeria's president of igbo extraction, this is walking the talk , enough of the Lip service to Nigeria's unity . let us shew forth examples and elect a qualified igbo person as the president of Nigeria , anything other than this is barefaced satanic , evil and xenophobic hypocrisy

he is still making the verbal/lingual mistake of calling Nigeria a nation. it is not a nation, & no one should use US as a yard stick because their history varies with ours.

In as much as I agree that what makes us a giant of Africa is our population, land mass, human & natural resources. we internally not working together.
what some of them do is to play political games at the corridors of power & stand there preaching false peace & unity..while they rig the political system making it unfavorable for the Igbo, Third force parties & the youths.

the body has different parts that work together for the whole body to perform well, but let's say the heart stops supplying blood to the left hand does it expect it to still be loyal & not want to separate or call for a revolution ?

".........Going our separate ways will not solve our problems; staying together will be of great benefit to us.
And what has Nigeria gained for reluctantly cohabiting together in the past 58years or so?

Even the hausa-fulani slavemasters does not want this stooge VP again in the emerging power reshuffling in Aso Rock.Continue to preach false unity and deny reality.

He's right. However, there's need to acknowledge our differences and renegotiate the bond of our togetherness. Our failure to address this simple but very important issue for a very long time has been the bane of our stagnation.

We've been pursuing oneness for every long time without making headway, which is understandable citing the fact that we're a country not a nation. So, it's about time we forget about oneness and focus on pursuing unity only. This simply means to jettison federation and embrace confederation in fullness - defence ministry won't be negotiable though. And right of secession without oppression unnegotiable too.

Ours is a fundamental problem, so it requires an indirect solution like this since direct solution isn't an option.
