This is a manatee. Not a whale. A docile water dwelling mammal. Usually found around mangrove swamp areas but can adapt to fresh water or brackish mangrove/marine environment. Surprised to find it in Taraba. It must have swam up there from Niger Delta estuaries. Really amazing. But on a serious note, Nigerians need to respect nature. Not kill everything we see as bush meat

Manatees are docile animals not interested in any manner of aggression. Actually, anatomically, the shape of a manatee snout is such that the animals cannot use its teeth to attack. So manatees don't bite and do not have body weapons for attacking perceived enemies.
