A socio - cultural and political organisation ,
Lagos Renaissance Group, has condemned what
it described as sponsored and despicable
attacks on the immediate past governor of
Lagos State , Mr Akinwunmi Ambode .
It noted that the attacks were part of a series of
planned political persecutions that would not
only fail but also expose the ruling All
Progressives Congress to needless cracks and
invasion by political enemies.
The group, in a statement signed by its
Chairman , Daniel Awesu, and Secretary
General , Abdul - Quadri Enikanolaiye , stated that
the call by some protesters on September 24 for
the probe of Ambode could only be regarded as
unjustified , embarrassingly shameful and
uncalled - for .

The statement read in part, “ No doubt , this is
one of the series of intentionally planned
persecution and political assaults on the former
governor Ambode in order to wickedly rubbish
his rich and enviable credentials and pedigree .
“ It will only be an act of feigning ignorance or
mischief if anyone living in Lagos State is
oblivious of the tremendous and daring but
short - lived pro- people policies and program the
former Governor Ambode designed and
implemented during his four - year tenure (2015
to 2019 ). ”
