myobjective: Yes, not all Ilorin indigenes are extremist, but many are, compared to other muslim majority Yoruba cities. Most Ilorin indigenes take pride in the fact that they no longer practice yoruba traditional religions and worship of gods in the city. Just that of course, you can never compare Ilorin people extremism to that of Hausa fulanis na. Islamic extremism in Nigeria is of 3 grades. Grade 3 (low)- South west Yorubas, Igalas & Afemai (Edo north) Grade 2 (medium)- Ilorin, Ebira, Nupe, Bariba, Nasarawa-Plateau and other northern minority muslims who are not Hausa fulani or Kanuris. Grade 1 ( high) -Hausa fulani, Kanuri, Shuwa arabs & Hausanized Bauchi/Yobe tribes. 1 Like |
