Topic : My name in the book of life?
Text : Philippians 4 : 1- 3

Going by the fulfilment of almost all the prophecies concerning the end time, the question for concern at the moment should be "is your/my name in the book of life".
Why should it be the main question for now? It is, because, anytime from now going by the happenings in the world that are fulfilling the end time prophecies, the end may come.
This is a question that we all need to answer sincerely. We know ourselves more than anyone else. We know what we do in our closets. One thing that is certain is that no one can deceive God, because nothing is hidden from HIM.
Brethren, this is not a question to ask ourselves just once, it should be asked periodically to examine whether we are still in the faith that was once delivered unto us. Remember, once saved is not forever saved, and that you are blasting in tongues or exhibiting other spiritual gift doesn't make one's name to be in the book of life forever.
Fruits of genuine repentance must be seen in one's life by leaving the old ways of living to embrace the gospel way.

This study shall be considered under these three sub topic briefly.
1. What the book of life is
2. How to be sure your name is there
3. Matter calling for action..

What the book of life is.
It is the family register of all the members of the family of God.
It is a book opened and keep by God, so no room for any form of manipulation.
It contains only the saved and the sinless.
It is a book that one's name is written automatically when such received salvation, but threatened to be removed when one sins.
It is a book in which one can retain one's name by wearing white robe and keeping the whote robe clean always. He/she that wears white cloth runs from the one that carries palm oil.

How to be sure your name is there.
Why some will say that only heaven knows those that will get there. No, this is an erroneous belife or statement.
Observing and maintaining these tripple "s" will give you the assurance that your name is written in the book of life
Saved : One must first received the salvation that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ brought into the world. This is the first instance when one's name got written in the book of life. Jn 1 : 12 - 15
Set apart : One must be sanctified in order to have dominance over self (flesh), sin and the world, thus making such to maintain his/her name in the book of life.
Steadfast : Steadfastness is a must for those who are in Christ Jesus. Not to be hot today, cold tomorrow. He doesn't adore lukewarm Christian. One has to be consistent in godly activities and characters.

Three things about the question we are studying tonight are something;
....to be sure of
....you can be sure of
....others should testify of. People should be able to see Jesus in our lives (behavior, speech, dressing etc) as they saw Him in the lives of the early Apostle at Antioch.

Now, there are three possible answers to this question. So if someone asked that, is your name in the book of life, one of the below will be the possible response,
1. Yes
2. No
3. I cannot say.
This will lead us to the third part of this study.

Matter for action
One's response to this question is the matter that calls for an action to be taken.
If your response to the question is Yes, the matter for action is to continue to walk in your white robe and avoid any form of stain. Rev. 3 : 4 & 5
If your response to the question is No, the matter for attention is to depart from sin and be born again. 2 Tim 2 : 19 - 21.
If your response to the question is I cannot say, the matter for action is to join the No group and be born again Extra 2 : 61 - 63.
