Comptroller general dey chop foreign rice. You can only comfortably shut borders to garri importation, because we produce enough locally. But can we say the same about rice?

Nigeria is old enough to produce something on its own. At the age of 58 we are still living on imported goods.. Almost every thing we consume today is imported. We can't even refine our product/resources here. When will we rise to the extent of some countries relying on our product/resources to live. Nigeria is a blessed nation our resources can feed us, and unlock many from poverty. But now how much more do our leaders contribute to the growth of Nigeria. Stopping imported Rice produce is a good idea, but how can we stop/ban importation of rice while we don't contribute more to make our home made produce a better one like imported ones.
We need good leaders that will take this country higher.........

I have a question to ask?

Are normal transportation activities still permitted at Seme border?

That is the movement of people to and fro Nigeria...
movement of people are allowed but must tender the passport

This is a good development. China did this and see the benefit now.

We should not only close the borders but block importation channels as well.

How I wish we can also stop politians from health tourism as well. Unfortunately that can't be done as the Constitution won't allow for that.
and the constitution allows border closure?

So be it. Eventually it will crash.
it won't crash anytime soon because as a nation we need 120m bags of rice a year but what we produce a a year is 9m bags. Source Nigeria quarantine.

Mr comptroller hope the border between Jibia, Katsina state and maradin, Niger republic has been closed as well cos The last time I checked people use leg to go and buy suya from there

Try and read with an open mind. The blocked mind can't get something good out of a write up.
A Nigerien was shot dead- can that happen at Seme boarder?

Those who stays in another country but buys goods Nigeria should be allowed to do so. Our own is not smuggling na. We buy and as well grow the economy. Buhari should allow us come to Nigeria and buy our goods. Many of our goods are lined up in trucks at the border without exit permit, for months now. Buhari please allow us, we are not smugglers.
