1st October, 1960, a forest celebrates the large sign post saying 'NO POACHERS". Powers that be(Colonial Masters) hand power over to the 'feeble in mind' but mighty in sword, due to their fears. The power holders seem not to be ripe enough for the seat. The land becomes unstable. With Ethnic sentiments, Favouritism and Tribalism on the rise, an impending doom is looming.

Civil War ensued and ended. Love is now based on state of origin syndrome. Indeed, a matter of identity against brotherhood. The Rulers in power tussle. The people's voices are no longer heard because, their throat are dry, due to sudden hardship in the land. Yes! a hungry man is an angry man but their plight is forced to die in their minds, as a result of the ever changing policies of the day and their cries have become a melodious song in the ears of the rulers. Amassing wealth and impoverishing the people is their goal.

Shall we sit, fold our hands and watch things continue this way? Or are we to protest and see ourselves behind bars? Do we create chaos in the land that anarchy may prevail and watch everyone scatter abroad? Should we regionalise this nation because the centre can no longer hold as things have fallen apart? An urgent answer is needed because one can now break one's balls just sitting but what manner of seat is that?

When shall we sleep and be sure to awake to goodnews? When shall we farm and be sure of the harvest before the four legged special creatures destroy it? who is willing to really listen to our complaints? When can we be proud of the road to our houses? When shall we be certain of the nights to have light? When will the tax payers be happy with the tax they pay? We boast of Natural resources yet we pay through our nose to enjoy it. Do the leaders or rulers really care?

But how can we change the status quo when we hate ourselves so much? Why the hate speeches? Why cry for separation when we can make this nation better? Are we going to cut the nipple that gave us milk while we were yet sucklings? if we bond like brooms, leaving religious and ethnic sentiments, we can sweep the nation clean, and the leaders or rulers will be left with no option than to readjust to our terms.

Let's stop blaming one another and ensure that the cause of the problem is being handled from our end, instead of it being indirectly commended by our silence.
Happy Independence to us all.

There's nothing to be happy about Nigeria's independence undecided
How and why did Lord lugard join my people and them together if not for their selfish interest.
We should tell ourselves the simple truth the marriage is not working undecided
