The City of God Rest Ministry, general overseer, Pastor Destiny Eguavoen, has on Sunday received the beaten of his life from some youths of Urora community in Edo, for disboying community's order to stop church service by 8am.

Everyone in the community had been ordered to stay indoors and shop owner were told to shut their shops, this order was given by the chief priest of the community, Chief Ugiagbe Awaguore, for smooth celebration of annual lkpoleki festival.

All Churches in the community had also been ordered to close Sunday service before or atmost 8am.

Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Bishop Oyenude Kure, kicked off the order saying, the order violated the right to whorship as it is writen in the Nigeria constitution.
He therefore, ordered churches to go about their normal Sunday service.

It was reported that some youths in the community moved from one street to the other to make sure everyone compliance with the order, as shops were shut and churches promptly close their service. Many residence of the community were indoors.

At the City of God Rest Ministry, the youth saw the pastor still preaching at 9.am, they become furious and disrupted the service as they beat every member of the church they sighted, with chairs.

According to one of the Nation reporter, pastor Eguavoen said he was seriously injured by the attack, has proceed to the police headquarters as the ledership of CAN promised to take up the matter.

Sunday Osagiede, Urora community spokesman, said they gave churches time with which they should commence and end service on the day of lkpoleki festival.

The Chief priest emphasized that pastors within the community agreed to end church service before 8.am

The matter was being investigated according to DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, police spokesman.

This is a barbaric act, the Bible say touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.
Why did the youth of the community heed to the words of that powerless chief priest and disobey the almighty God.
That village needs cleansing.
