The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has approved the termination of the appointments of about 250 Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants with immediate effect.
The Senior Special Assistant appointees covered all the eighteen local government areas of Edo State while the Special Assistant appointees cover one hundred and ninety two wards of the eighteen local governments.
In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Mr Osarodion Ogie, said, “This development is in line with efforts to reorganise the governance structure to enhance efficiency in service delivery to Edo people.”

He noted, “Fresh appointments will be announced within the next 30 days.”

He said, “They are hereby directed to hand over all government property and documents in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.”

Over 250 SAs and SSAs?

If Edo government were his own personal business, would he have employed such number of Assistants?
