Am in a dilema!!

Am a real estate consultant, i helped my client to purchase a land 3years ago at the millennium estate gbagada , but there is this developer in the estate in cohorts with some policemen and a faction of the family(because their is a dispute within the family over administrative right) but without waiting for legal decisions from the court, this developer in company of this faction of the family goes about the estate illegally possessing people's land, so on tuesday last week the developer with his 4 mobile police escort(apparently the police escort were appointed to him from the IG's office) came my clients land and wanted to start building. Please note that this land is covered by a "Lagos state governors consent" so seeing them there i challenged them and told them to leave, we exchange words and i left, the next day, they brought a letter to my house inviting me to zone 2 police station onikan for this coming Monday and i know it is in a bid to intimidate me for challenging them, i expected them to invite the owner of land if they are been sincere but instead they are inviting me,
So i already perceive their intention.
I can't afford a lawyer now.

I just want to ask the lawyers in the house if its advisable for me to turn up, we know the state of this country's law givers, i don't want someone to take advantage of me and illegally detain me for doing the right thing by not turning away when i saw someone's right been trampled.
