Two men–Emmanuel Aro (25) and Anu Olofinju (25)–were arrested by police with a human skull along ijoun road in Ogun State’s Eggua area.



Emmanuel and Anu were arrested on Friday following a complaint from an Amoo Bankole who complained to the Eggua Police Station that the suspects were sighted digging in a cemetery where his mother was buried a few months ago, reports TheNation.

Amoo told the police that he thought the perpetrators were up to something evil by digging the grave of his mother.

Police spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed this in a release on Sunday, said on the basis of Amoo’s complaint, Eggua Divisional Police Officer Kehinde Oyekangun, mobilized detectives to the scene but met the suspects on the street.

Abimbola added that the police assaulted the suspects and a woman’s skull was found inside when they searched their luggage.

The victim had identified the skull as his mother’s, according to police.

Abimbola clarified that the suspects surrendered to the crime commission when interviewed, stating that they wanted to use the skull for the purpose of making money.

The state police chief, Bashir Makama, issued an order to move the suspects for further investigation to the department of state criminal investigation and intelligence.
