In Chemistry, most changes are divided in to two categories: Physical changes and chemical changes.
A physical change is something that changes the physical properties of an object or substance like size, shape or form.
Examples of these is a cloth cut and sown into a dress. Also water changing to ice or steam. Most of these changes can be easily reversible.

A Chemical change on the other hand occurs when the particles of two or more substances are rearranged to form a new substance.
Example is the burning of wood to form ash. The ash cannot be turned to wood anymore.
Also in baking, these changes cannot be easily undone.
