NEWSPAPER REPORTER

A fast-growing media company located in Alimosho area of Lagos, is seeking for the employment of news reporters resident within Alimosho LGA to develop compelling story ideas across a variety of topics.
Must have a strong ability to get to the core of a story and produce breaking news under deadline pressure, ensuring all is clear, comprehensive and accurate.

Job Description

• Be aware of the major news stories and trends within our coverage
• Generate and shape story ideas with a strong story-telling ability
• Work with editors on accuracy and insightful coverage
• Contribute to a range of platforms
• Communicate and collaborate with teams across the company
Applicant must have
• A bachelor's degree in Mass Communication or equivalent experience
• Candidate must live within the Alimosho local government area of Lagos.
• An ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately under tight deadline pressure
• Success in producing an outstanding copy
• Experience working in a real-time news environment
• Dogged in attitude and goal-oriented
• Flexible; working late to meet deadlines is a necessary part of the job
• Able to work at unsocial hours, some early or late shifts, with hours varying according to workload and work cycles may also build up to a frenetic peak
• Good verbal and writing skills and effectively express information
• Time Management Skills: Candidate should be able to work on multiple projects at the same time, each with a different deadline
