As proof look at how many pages a 2023 Yoruba presidency thread has in the pic below. 24 pages and counting, but if it’s an intellectual topic on ways to make Nigeria better, you’d be lucky to get up to 2 pages, sigh. Nobody cares about development today, just which tribe will rule every 4 years. As soon as they are done with the election of 2023, they will start talking about 2027, while still in 2023. Yet TODAY, you have no electricity, no good roads, insecurity, lawlessness... but yes, let’s wait for 2023 2 Likes

Honestly am not seeing this country getting better in any way You're 100% correct Op. Nigerians only care about tribal politics. They only remember their problems when one foreign country introduces a new innovation. That's when they'll be shouting.."If it was in Nigeria" and "Nigeria is still here" When I get into politics am liberating my state from this unholy union. |

Tribal politics is the only thing they can grasp easily. The knowledge you need to understand development issues is more varied and possibly more brain tasking. 3 Likes 1 Share |

You know the funniest thing about the nearly universal obsession in Nigeria with "tribe" to the exclusion of all else? The very same people who mindlessly clamor for their "son" or "daughter" to attain an office, even though he or she may be totally unsuitable in terms of character, experience or education, is that pretty much all of them would be more than happy to emigrate to Western countries where neither they nor anyone who looked like them could ever dream of running the country, if only they were granted the opportunity! Unthinking tribal warriors who agitate constantly for a "Yoruba", "Igbo" or "Northern" presidency have no problem living and dying in countries where whiteness is an unstated prerequisite for high office, and yet they would rather that their own country continue to be run into the ground by thieving buffoons with whom they happen to share a language, even though most will never benefit in any concrete way from this cultural commonality. You'd think 59 years would have taught Nigerians a thing or two by now: GEJ didn't even provide his own hometown with a paved road or drinking water, while Buhari's boneheaded economic policies have immiserated more of his "talakawa" admirers than anyone else in the last 30 years, yet to hear ignorant Nigerians go on, their "tribe" having "their turn" at the Presidency will be a surefire road to peace and prosperity ... 5 Likes 1 Share |
