The Church Jesus founded can't be the body of all believers
nor can it be invisible.


1) The Church can't be the body of all believers.
There are huge differences in theology between Christians.
Even if we ignore the Catholic/Protestant disagreements there are many significant differences in the Protestant community
between good, intelligent, Jesus loving, Bible literate Protestants.
Here's a short and very partial list of theologically significant differences between Protestants:

.The Eucharist is Jesus--Anglicans-- the Eucharist is just a
symbol--Evangelicals and others.
·
. Contraception is a sin--all Protestants before 1930 contraception is not a sin--almost all modern Protestants
·
.Abortion is a sin--all Protestants until a decade or so ago--abortion is not a sin--many Protestant denominations
including United Church of Christ and Presbyterian Church
(USA)
·
.Active homosexuality is a sin--all Protestants until a few
decades ago-- active homosexuality is fine--Evangelical
Lutheran Church of America, the Episcopal Church, and the
Presbyterian Church(USA) and even the Anglican as gay wedding is allowed in their headquarter in England.
·
. We can lose our salvation--Assembly of God, some Lutheran
groups, Methodist-- we can't lose our salvation--Baptist, some
Lutheran groups, Presbyterians.
·
.Baptism is necessary for salvation--Lutherans--baptism isn't
necessary for salvation--Baptists
.
.Jesus is God some believe this while others doesn't....We can go on and on;

Hence even if we ignore the huge chasm between the sincerely held beliefs of Protestants and Catholics, as well as the Orthodox, it's clear that the body of all believers is divided
against itself. Jesus tells us what happens when a house is divided against itself:
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot
stand.
And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be
able to stand. Mark 3:24-25


But we know that Christ's Church will stand since Jesus says:
And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. Matt 16:18 .Therefore we know that the Church Jesus founded can't be divided against itself since if it were it would fall.


Given that the body of all believers is divided among itself
then it can't be the Church that Jesus founded. There is a second argument that shows that the Church can't be the body of all believers which would be explained in this section.

2) The Church can't be invisible.
Scripture says:
If your brother sins [against you], go and tell him his fault
between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won
over your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that ‘every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector." Matt 18:15-17.


Clearly if the Church is invisible then it would be impossible to
take anyone to it and it would be impossible for the Church to
tell anyone anything.
For these verses to make sense it must be possible to take a
person to the Church and have the Church listen to the
arguments and decide who is right and inform the parties.
That means that not only must the Church be visible it has to
have people in it with authority to resolve disputes.
The fact that Jesus tells us in Scripture to turn to the Church
to resolve difference also means that the Church can't be the
body of all believers. Assume for a moment that the Church is the body of all believers and let's say two Christians are disputing about whether or not Baptism is needed for salvation in the normal course of things.
Let's call the person who says that Baptism is necessary A
and the person who says Baptism isn't necessary B.
If A and B approach the Lutheran part of the body of all believers and that neither of them are willing to change their position, person B would be exiled from the body of all believers and treated like a tax collector. But if A and B approach the Baptist part of the body of all believers, A will be exiled. Clearly that makes no sense and render Jesus's instructions useless.


Hence the idea that the Church founded by Christ is the invisible body of all believers can't be right since it conflicts with Scripture's clear description of the nature of His Church. His Church can't be divided against itself and His Church has to be visible so that Christians can go to it to have their disputes settled.
