Anambra wins first position in the President's SUBEB Schools Debate Championship, Wins big in 2019 Presidential school/teachers award ceremony.

Anambra State Governor Dr. Willie Obiano today during the State Executive Council Meeting at the Government house Awka, recieved students who won the 58th edition of the Presidential schools debate for the fourth time running. Receiving the team, Governor Obiano congratulated them and thanked the coordinators of the debate team for a job well done and urged them to keep making the state proud,assuring them of his continued support.

In the same vein, the Governor received teachers and administrators who swooped awards from the 2019 Presidential school/teachers award held recently at the Eagle Square Abuja. Best School administrator, best public school teacher are some of the awards won by the Anambra contingent at the award ceremony, winning car, bus prize and other gift items. Presenting the team, the State Commissioner for Basic Education Prof. Kate Omenugha thanked the Governor for his unalloyed support to the education sector in the State and assured the Governor of excellent results always.

Governor Willie Obiano urged them to keep doing the state proud and reassured them of his administration's commitment to education. The State educational sector keeps winning laurels at all front and this is a testament that Governor Willie Obiano is committed to excellence in the educational sector.

I remember a time Imo were up there dragging first position with Anambra....kinda like those two kids in the front of the class the rest of us used to respect and envy! Rochas, upon all his noise, set Imo back educationally, and it should be one of Ihediohas’ top priorities to bring them back to where they should be!

Ok, Anambra has done well in education but I want an improvement on the success made ,so far. I want to see better statistics like 80% of our school children passing waec at first try with over 75% in all subjects. More training of teachers , better parents-teachers association to make sure the children are well taken care of and ready to learn, improved learning materials...additionally, even better funding for school in rural areas. We need to move up because we are beginning to get stagnant.

Peter Obi is the man any day any time. I will never forget his campaign promise in Onitsha in 2003.

" If Anambra children did not go to school for one day I will resign, If Anambra teachers embark on strike for one day I will resign"

This is sixteen years after that promise and strike has never for once been recorded in Anambra public schools. Now this is what leadership is all about.

The secret are these schools given back to the missionaries.

C'mon....attack..we best them...healthy competition but make sure we see 59th in Umuahia.
