Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 10 in August 2019. The device came with a feature that converts handwriting to text in the Galaxy Notes app.

Samsung promised that the handwriting-to-text feature would come to other phones with the OneUI 2.0 beta. The company did not give an exact timeline for this, but now, we have the feature.

Users of the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy Note 8 smartphones now have the feature. It apparently came to the devices as an upgrade today.

Reports have it that you can get the feature even without the need for an S pen as long as your phone can upgrade the Samsung Notes app to version 3.1.04.16. With just your finger, you can write on your device.



It is however of note that the feature is not coming to all devices. But this might simply be a temporary market limitation.

The handwriting-to-text feature does more than just convert words. It can also export the text to a Microsoft Word file. You can zoom in and out while creating a note. You also get more styles to choose from in handwriting mode.
