Nigerians are in mourning following the tragic fire outbreak which happened yesterday at Ochanja market and Upper Iweka road, Onitsha.

Yesterday, a petrol tanker exploded around the Ochanja market in Onitsha, causing an inferno that took the lives of many and destroyed properties whose worth are yet to be ascertained.


Allegedly, the Anambra State Government could not provide fire trucks to help combat the flames, as the inferno raged for hours.

Now, Nigerians are mourning on social media, with the likes of Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Natacha ‘Tacha’ Akide, and many others praying for the commercial city.

Talk, talk, talk all for clout without doing anything.

After 3days everyone will go about their normal business like nothing happened leaving the victims to their fate until another tragedy strikes.

Please nobody should pray for Onitsha because the town is already prayer-saturated. What is needed is a well-equipped and functional fire station and substations with mandatory monthly fire drill on a chosen uncompleted building to sharpen their state of readiness.
