Scotland To Hold Second Independence Referendum In 2020 by gidgiddy: 12:26pm On Oct 18, 2019
The first minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National movement, Nicola Sturgeon, has announced that Scotland will seek for a second Independence referendum in 2020.

While speaking on British TV, Ncola Sturgeon said that plans were being finalised to seek a second referendum that would be conducted in 2020.

When Nicola Sturgeon was asked about challenges an independent Scotland would face such as Scottish investments in Britain, a hard border between Scotland and England, Brexit and the damage that might be done by scrapping the pound, Mrs Sturgeon said

"Notwithstanding all the challenges an independent Scotland may face, the fundamental question that must be put to Scotland and the Scottish people is if it is better to be independent and in charge of the decisions that shape our future, or do we remain as we are, powerless and at the mercy of decisions being taken elsewhere"

Note: Scotland is one of the 4 areas that makes up Britain. Scottish nationalists agitated and got a referendum in 2014 in which Scotland voted to remain part of Britain. The agitation for another referendum has gained momentum and another seems likely in 2020.

If Britain that created Nigeria can give one of its areas 2 referendums in 6 years, then in principle, nothing stops Nigeria giving the same to any area in Nigeria that is agitating for referendum.
