HISTORY BECKONS: AS AIFPU GETS HER FIRST FEMALE SUG DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION.

History beckoned in Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic with the election of Comrade Kalu Justina Oti a.k.a. MAYA as the first female DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION Student Union Government (AIFPU) since the establishment of the institution Thirty Seven (37) years ago.

KALU JUSTINA OTI is a 300 Level student of Business Administration and Management, School of Business. Maya hail from Abia State in Arochukwu LGA.

Speaking to the Fresh Report MAYA said she didn’t always get the support of her female colleagues expect those with the same Vision with her.

“When it comes to leadership issues we [women] are our own enemies”, the new student union INFORMATION said.

“To all those who are sceptical about a female being a Leader, I say we have crossed the Rubicon. Those people need to read the Bible and learn about the story of Deborah." This is another Deborah standing in front of you today. I bear the plight of a woman and understand the pains of a man. Leadership is not about gender. I seek the support of all, as we take the union to another level.” Lets Give women the chance to Lead, she said

“We don’t support one another mostly because some of us assume that ‘women are arrogant’ so I won’t support her.

MAYA, who was elected Director of Information of the school’s union on 11th October, 2019. Officially took over the office on 17th of October, 2019.

“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things, Lets Encourage women in Leadership. MAYA said.
