There was constant chants of "Baba Ijebu" in the ancient city of Ife yesterday when the newly installed Odole Oodua of the source, Sir Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu CON, KJW, FISM moved to receive the traditional Staff of Oranmiyan, usually presented to holders of the title.

He was accompanied by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Hon. (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu. According to reports, the Odole was described as a special office that worked closely with the Ooni in rallying the descendants of Oduduwa where they were in the world for unity, peace and progress of the race.

The position was once occupied by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and subsequently by Chief G.O.K Ajayi. In addition, the Odole Oodua is a highly revered chieftaincy in Yoruba land pioneered by the great Oranmiyan while he was still a prince of Ife. This signifies the importance of the Oranmiyan staff received, during the installation, by Sir Adebutu.

He emerged the fourth Odole Oodua having been singled out amongst millions of the progenies of the Oduduwa race the world over. This Zenith of traditional honours bears the eloquent testimony of Sir Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu's to the Oduduwa race and humanity.
