KWARA CITIZENSHIP FORM SHOULD NOT TAKE THE DIRECTION OF RICE IN THE MARKET, GROUP CAUTIONS.


We, the people's voice, are deeply disillusioned by the ineptitude of the state government towards the indigenes of Kwara State on the increase in the application fee for citizenship certificate based on what we read on some national dailies and online media outfits, the government is shifting away from the promises its made to the electorates during electioneering campaign.

Paying over the odds for citizenship application form does not validate indigeneship but promotes dishonesty by cutting corners in their ploy to get the certificate. The last administration did well by harmonising the process of collecting citizenship certificate devoid of fraudulent practices and increase revenue accruable to the local governments.

The apolitical Kwarans have every reason to be despair at any slightest provocation going by their high expectations from Kwara APC campaign manifesto. This attitudinal tendency may explain why some members of the ruling political party in the state were aggrieved for not having their share in the spoils of war.

Also, on the monthly disclosure of FAAC allocation to the state and the 16 local governments, we implore the state government to borrow a leaf from the immediate past administration by making available the amount Kwara gets from federal account allocation every month. The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service Should continue with the usual practice of briefing the public on the amount generated monthly in order to afford people the opportunity to know what comes into the public coffers and subsequently demand for dividends of democracy based on the state's financial information available to them.

On the issue of the sun set teachers disengaged by SUBEB based on the allegation of not being professional teachers, we enjoin the state government to pay these set of workers their salaries for the month of September as they have diligently worked and deserved to, at least, be paid the month's salary.
