The Federal Government recently announced plans to increase Value Added Tax from five per cent to 7.5 per cent. Do you feel this is appropriate? It is appropriate. There is no right time for it. The problem in this country is that we fail to face reality. The VAT Act was promulgated in 1993 and came into effect in 1994.
