Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, on Thursday reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
Fani-Kayode commended Buhari for holding a meeting with Putin which is aimed at building stronger ties between both countries.

In a tweet, the former Minister, who is a staunch critic of Buhari, stated that Russia was a strong and dependable ally, hence Nigeria’s association was commendable.
He tweeted: “I am glad that Nigeria and Russia are getting closer & I am delighted at the fact that @MBuhari is in Sotchi right now to build stronger ties. Unlike others, Vladimir Putin and the Russians are strong and dependable allies who do not abandon their friends in their time of need.”

DAILY POST reports that Buhari and Putin had on Wednesday agreed to put Nigeria-Russia relations on the front burner and pursue the completion of all abandoned projects initiated by both countries.
A statement by Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity said the two leaders made the pledge at a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of ongoing Russia-Africa Summit, in Sochi, Russia, on Wednesday.

They also agreed to start new infrastructure projects and expand trade and investment, security and military cooperation.

This advance Team will start the negotiations and concludes them before the President arrives. GEJ only signs an agreement that has been agreed a week or two earlier. As the agreements were signed with ease in that era, Nigerians never bothered to appraise the efforts towards achieving them, rather were attacking GEJ on the number of delegates forgetting that most these CEOs travels on their own budget. Went through the highlights of the agreement and I must say they are commendable but we all know that Buhari lacks the will and capacity to follow through with action and remarkable penchant to ruin even the best possibilities .. We all remember how nothing came out of his similar agreements with the Chinese .

What are we offering the Russians in return for all the mentioned assistance? Whats in it for Russia?

Russian bilateral relationship is good for Nigeria but given the fact that the false affidavit swearing dullard was involved in negotiations, nothing tangible WILL come out of it.
