He had a relapse of Cancer. That has been the reason for the delay. I must have read somewhere that they are planning on dropping his character for the season 2. Nice season, just too much blood and sexuality. But nice watch nonetheless (season 1 of course) |

They are not dropping him anything. He is recovering nicely and no relapse Season two is not a continuation of spartacus but a prequel Kai  |

^^^ lol get your facts right, Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) will not be returning for Season 02. "The search for Andy Whitfield's replacement on "Spartacus" is entering the homestretch. The Starz series has zeroed in on three actors to replace Whitfield in a possible second season of the show. He was forced to leave the show in September when the cancer he had been fighting since early this year returned. Ok, so he's not remission. Still remains that Spartacus is not a continuation but a prequel and has more to do with how things were before spartacus came into the picture. |
